Large Vintage British Made Tin Plate Wind-up Toy Car Ca. 1930s/40s For Sale
This is a relatively large old tin plate, wind-up toy car: 35cm long, 14cm wide and 12.5cm high. You can see its relative size in the picture where I am holding it in my hands. Judging from the shape of the car, I would think it has been made in the 1930s or 40s. There is no maker’s name, but the inscription “Made in Gt. Britain” is painted at the bottom of one of the doors. On the inside, there are metal front seats and metal back seats; the back seats have indented stripes which imitate upholstery. The inside is very dusty, but I am selling the car as seen and have not cleaned it or interfered with it at all. The car has obviously been played with and has suffered scratches on the paint and a knock on the roof, which you can best see in the photo taken from behind. Also, the steering wheel and the chauffeur have come off, but both still exist and could be repaired. Otherwise the car is still in nice condition and it still works.
