<img target=\"_blank\"><img large size, (12 3/4\" tall by 8 1/4\" wide) antique bisque figural group of two adorable, dark skinned, black (African American) children with bare feet and molded clothing entitled: \"A Dark Secret\" on the base. They are standing with their faces close together (eyes glancing toward each other) in tall grass or bushes with the boy wearing a molded, burnt orange cap, white shirt, open at the collarand short trousers with his arm around his sister who is wearing ashort, plaid printed dress. He has one finger pointed toward her as if to be making a point as he whispers hissecret. Both children have intaglio molded, big dark eyes with lots of expression, nice detailing to mouths and lots of deeply molded and painted,curly black hair.There are three distinctive foundry marks for Gebruder Heubach on the base as shown and the piece is in very good condition with no chips or breaks. There are a few short, manufacturing (kiln firing) splits (normal for these items) on the base which are not damages as well as a tight oldhairline on the base in the grass which does not affect its appearance and does not need any repair.This charming piece has a raisedbase and is quite heavy which will require lots of padding in a larger shipping box.
