Theseearrings are supreme examples of their type. They are a type known as Erendira or gypsy earrings. True antiques, their workmanship testifies to the extra care and attention that goldsmiths used in the past. The filigree is immaculate. They are made of solid 10 karat yellow gold(marked and tested) in a 1 3/8 inch lengthfrom the ear wire to the bottomanddecorated with filigree flowers. At their widest, they measure 1 1/8 inches. They weigh a total of only 6 grams for the pair, thanks to the airy filigree.They close with easy to use hinged hooks that enter the earlobe from the front to fit snugly in a gold ball. Lovely period pieces in excellent condition, they will come in a sparkly pouch inside of one of my signature boxes, perfect for gift-giving.
