Late 19th-early 20thc Chinese Silver Repousse Box Foo Dog With Moveable Parts:
A Chinese repousse silver box, late 19th-early 20th century, approximately 2 ¾” tall x 1 ¼” wide x 1 ¾” long, with a stamp on the bottom. It features a foo or lion dog (shishi) with a ball under one paw. It has some interesting “action features”: the ball rolls, the eyes move when the tongue is moved from side to side.Tests as silver. It is in excellent condition for its age, somewhat worn on the bottom, but no dents or breaks (see pictures). Very interesting little piece.
