Lee Enfield 1907 Pattern Sword Bayonet; (aka SMLE — Short Magazine Lee Enfield), Australian, manufactured by Slazenger with wooden handle grip marked SLAZ 44 on LHS, SLAZ 43 on RHS; 15/16" x 17 1/4" blade; RHS marked with broad arrow and X OA, believed to indicate "Orange Arsenal;" LHS marked 1 14, believed "Model 1" indicates Queensland; Scabbard tip marked with star, top marked MD 4 701 which may indicate Model 4 for South Australia; backside stamped into leather [see photo] "Lithgow (star) 1916." Not cleaned. Very good condition.
