Lenci Type 1930s 18" Girl Doll In Organdy & Felt:
An 18" Mary Pickford look-a-like, this felt doll was made in the early 1930s. She has many characteristics of the Lenci doll. Her face looks like a Lenci, with the side glancing eyes painted with a dot of highlight, and two-toned lips.
Stitching at the back of the neck and tops of legs and arms shows the squared-off pattern seen on Lencis.Other characteristics not necessarily Lenci: the mohair wig with long sausage curls covers the head with no ears. The fingers are not separately stitched. The legs are shaped with side darts. The body is all felt, not muslin.
The organdy dress and matching shoes and bonnet are original, as are the socks, probably: the undergarment may be an addition.
Condition of the felt is over all very good, with some uneven planing on the face (fixable) and on the derriere.
Will try to answer any questions to the best of my ability.
