From Leo Smith…
"Sculpturally, the witch on a pale horse is my favorite piece.
Full of mischief and adventure, to me she embodies the spirit of this mysterious, prank-filled holiday.
My favorite Halloween memories come from my early childhood, and invariably involve a moon-light night filled with rain and gusty winds.
Bats and witches fly through the air--of course you’ve heard that a witch flies through the night on a broomstick, but I remember imagining a different figure in the night--the ghost of a horse.
I see this horse as the bearer of the chill night wind, commanded by the power of the wild and adventurous witch.
Together they fill the Halloween night with the thrills and chills of a child’s imagination.
I have made every effort to create a piece with uncompromising originality, whose finish and look have the soft patina of age which one expects from a fine collectible.
I hope you enjoy this beautiful limited edition reproduction by Midwest Importers of Cannon Falls, Inc., a collectible I’m proud to assure you captures the essence and integrity of my original carving.”
