For sale: A late 1940\'s Les Logan telegraph bug relabeled by EF Johnson & Co. The key is built on a very nice and trim cast iron base. Feet are held on by pressed in pins. The base still sports the commercial hold-down holes needed by news & press reporters to prevent the key from moving during heavy use. It was also cast to be inset so that wires were not on an open flat surface. The damper has been adjusted and originally had multiple washers which were chosen as needed. This key has one washer remaining and is the second key I have had where it is backed by a Canadian penny showing continued owner attention as the key was used. As a Logan key, this key is quite a mark above the later EFJ versions which strove year by year to find ways to produce the key at less cost. The Logan design was labor intensive by EFJ standards. What remained popular was the trim size of this key which was actually lighter and easier to work with than the heavily competitive Vibroplex \"Blue Racer\". This key is 3\" wide by 6 1/4\" long and built on a cast iron base. Condition: Used excellent condition and we see no problems or issues with it. It is dusty and I have gotten out of the habit of cleaning & polishing keys like this as it just has a negative impact done too much or carelessly.
