NICE HANDWRITTEN LONG LETTER BY REB ELIEZER ZUSMAN SOFER OF PAKSH TALMUD CHASAM SOFER WRITING TO REB ITZIK DEITCH OF VIENE TALMUD CHASAM SOFER רבי אליעזר זוסמאן סופר אב,ד פאקשEliezer Zussman-Sofer(1839–1903) was a Hungarian rabbi and head of ayeshivah.[1]He was the son of Rabbi Mordechai Efraim Fischel Sofer-Zussman ofPressburgand a son-in-law of Rabbi Joel Ungar of Shochtiz and Paks.[2]

Zussman-Sofer was rabbi ofHalasin 1850 andPaksin 1880. He authoured a number of works includingYalkut Eliezer,Et Sofer,Meleah KetoretandDamesek Eliezer.[3]

All of his sons became rabbis:

  • Simon, rabbi style="margin-bottom: 0.1em;">Joseph Leib, rabbi in Dratshke (author ofYalkut Sofer)
  • Judah, rabbi in Kadelburg, ofMate Yehudahand the father-in-law of RabbiChaim Soferof Munkaz and Budapest)
  • Shmuel Benjamin, rabbi inDratshke(author ofDivrei Sofrim).

His sons-in-law were Rabbi Yitzchok Yakov Blum of Sanshun and Kroly and Rabbi Amram Fischer ofYunk.[2]

Zussman-Sofer died on the eve ofYom Kippur, October 1902.
