If you are into old school LA-2A vacuum tube compression for that classic sound of rock and R&B from the 50\'s, 60\'s and 70\'s, the Lightning Boy Audio OP-2 is for you! The OP-2 is a handmade in the USA, dual NOS 12AU7 tube powered unit that delivers studio grade compression in a portable pedal package.
Gearhead session guitarist Pete Thorn (Chris Cornell, others) had this to say: \"Its super cool. Its an optical tube compressor in a pedal. This unit was acquired NEW and played only ONCE for a demo session. It is awesome and sounds exactly as described - there are youtube video demos available if you want to verify it. I used it for a guitar part, but apparently, it also works great for bass, vocals, or any other situation requiring tube warmth. Why am I selling it? I have access to genuine UREI 1176 compressors for my own work and don\'t really need this unit, as great as it is, to sit in a box on the shelf, where it as been for the past year. Comes with 12V power supply, Lightning Boy mug holder and all pertinent documentation. Currently only available direct from Lightning Boy on an \"if/when available\" waiting list and nearly impossible to obtain used, due to limited supply.

Technically, its increasing the THD slightly (not the the point of breakup), it modifies the frequency response ever so slightly, and creates a volume boost. True BypassSwitch between soft & hard knee compression slopes.
