This beardless depiction of President Lincoln was beautifully machine-embroidered, as were the floral border and the upper-center patriotic symbolism featuring an eagle clutching a "UNION FOREVER" banner. Additional lettering denotes the copyright information, "L. Chevre 1861 - Isaac Dreyfus Sons. Basle.," and the legend, "A. Lincoln. President." The central area of about 5" x 9" ribbon exhibits a clean appearance, only the most minor age spotting. Note: This ribbon has been mounted for framing. These usually sell for $400-600.
