WOW- Offered for sale is a vintage Lionel No. 250E HIAWATHA STREAMLINER Steam Locomotive 4-4-2 and 12 Wheel Whistle Tender that dates from c1935 to 1942.
This fine engine and tender were nicely restored (showing the TCA restored tag) and most parts appear to be original, front and rear trucks were replaced. The painted finish looks nice although the orange is more flat than satin and the black paint has some scuffs and messy edges. One rear engine step is missing- see pictures for more details.
When Powered up this engine ran well on the test track- it lighted fine and usually reversed on command, occasionally not engaging.
When the TENDER was powered up the whistle sounded on command with a nice tone.
