Lot Antique Vintage Estate Crochet Lace Collars Cuffs Dress Inserts 12 Pcs For Sale
This sale is for a 12 piece lot of antique/vintage dress collars, cuffs, and bodice inserts. They are from a local estate and in 'as found' condition. Most are ecru; a couple white.There is some yellowing of some pieces; I have done no cleaning and also don't know what exposure to smoke or pets these may have had over the years. I do not see any major damage; the largest bib shaped collar has a pin prick spot of black ink on one side and a bit of knotted string on the other side.
There are four collars; three meant to be sewn on and one that has a tiny button to just put around your neck. One collar has a set of matching cuffs, also meant to be sewn on. There are two sets of cuffs to be sewn on and two bodice/dress inserts. I would say that the majority of the pieces were hand made.
The largest collar is probably machine made and is shaped like a bib. It is 9 1/4" down the front and 11" across the widest part. Inside neck measurement is about 12". The crochet collar with tiny button and loop for closure is 3" wide; when closed the inside neck measurement is about 16". The squared off white daisy collar is 9 1/2" across the bottom, and 8" down each side. The top, between the sides, is 5". These three are in the second pic.
In the third pic is the collar with matching cuffs. The collar is 28 1/2" long and about 2 1/2" wide. The cuffs are 10" long and 3" wide. In the last pic, at the top, are another set of cuffs that are 9" long and 3" wide. On the bottom are a white set of cuffs made up of half circles; these are 11" long and 1 1/2" wide at the widest part. I believe these are cuffs, but they could be a two part collar. The piece on the side and the one in the middle are bodice/dress inserts; each about 9" long. A nice lot of antique/vintage dress trims!
