Stunning hand painted porcelain plates with enamel and gold gilding...the photos barely do then justice! There is a set of eight 7.25\" plates, and a bonus 8.5\" plate. The plates are excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. I also see no real significant wear on the paintor gilding...these dishes were my grandparents, and only pulled out for special occasions. These are not often found in sets anymore! They weigh 5lbs all packed up, hence the higher shipping price.
