These are EXTREMELY rare hand-signed, oversized woodblock prints from Kaoru Kawano, one of Japan\'s most influential artists of the Showa period (1926-1989). Kawano was born 1916 and died in 1965. His works have won countless awards and are in museums across the globe. He did not date his works but through much effort, I have found experts who tell me these 2 prints are from 1950. Also, not all of his works were signed. Some bore his red stamp but no signature. These 2 prints are signed and the signatures are FLAWLESS. I have included blown up photos as they are in amazing condition. The prints themselves are much larger than most of his works and are hand numbered to only 50 in existence. Of those 50, I highly doubt you will find ANY with signatures this nice. The prints are also in superb condition. No creases or major flaws and very minimal foxing though they are very old. They have been in a professional frame for decades.

I have only seen ONE other print like these on in years and years and it is for sale this moment for 900.00 (I included a picture of this listing) It is not in as good condition as mine nor is it signed on the actual print like mine are.
