Lot Of 3 Vintage 1970s Patterns, Size 9/10, Junior/teen, Butterick & Simplicity For Sale
Lot of 3 Vintage 1970s Patterns, Size 9/10, Junior/Teen, Butterick & Simplicity
Lot of three (nearly) timeless 1970s clothing patterns in sizes 9/10 and 10 for juniors/teens, or, probably, fun-loving women of any age as long as the size fits.
Patterns are cut. I don’t know if they’re all in the packages or not. I inherited a pile of patterns and I don’t have the time (or the sewing knowledge) to figure out if each pattern is intact. In the original packages, I see pattern pieces and instructions. Out of necessity, I make no guarantees as to what’s inside or the condition of the patterns. More detailed descriptions of each are below:
Package says it has a “Bonus: Time-Saving Shortcut.” This one may actually be unused. When I opened it to take pictures, the tissue pattern seems unusually well-folded. I didn’t take it too far apart, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was uncut (the other two patterns definitely look used.) Description reads:
Long or short straight leg overalls with optional side hammer-on-snap or button closing and optional bib front shaped patch pocket, has shaped bib front, attached self shoulder straps with purchased overall closures, shaped high back and shaped front and back patch pockets. NOTE: When long overall is worn rolled up, wrong side of fabric will show. Loose-fitting jacket with optional hammer-on-snap or front button closing, has shaped band collar, elasticized lower edge, shaped patch pockets, and full-length raglan sleeves elasticized at wrists. Topstitching. Purchased tops and belt.
There is no date that I can see on this package, but I would guess late 1970s since that’s when those overalls were all the rage.
Simplicity Vintage 1974 Pattern # 6746, Various Skirts, Size 10
Vintage 1974 Simplicity pattern #6746: Misses’ bias skirt in four lengths and tie. Size 10. The front of the package calls it “The 4-Gore Skirt in 4 Lengths”.
Misses’ Bias Skirt in Four Lengths and Tie: The flared skirt with back zipper and waistband has matching tie belt which can also be worn as a scarf or as a headband. V. 1 is short length. V. 2 is regular length. V. 3 is below knee length. V. 4 is ankle length.
This pattern is a great idea! One great skirt in four lengths—no matter where hemlines end up, you’re set! I personally think the short and the just below the knee are the cutest, but, then again, I’m not known for being “up” on fashion, so make whichever you like the best!
Simplicity Vintage 1977 Pattern #7997, Jumpsuit in Two Lengths and Gaucho Dress, Size 9/10
Package description reads:
Top-stitched gaucho dress v. 1 or jumpsuit v. 2 and 3 with front zipper and notched collar have front yokes, set-in sleeves and optional button trim. V. 1 features loops and carriers with “D” rings. V. 1 & 2 have pockets. V. 1 & 3 have short sleeves with turn back cuffs. Long length v. 2 with cap sleeves and short length v. 3 have tie belt.
I love these—super cute! I totally think the short sleeve shorts with tie belt is the cutest, though it’s about time “gaucho” came back. Will you be the one to bring it? Say, “Yes!” and offer now!
If you have other questions, I can answer using what I learn from the packages, but I don’t sew, so complicated answers are beyond me!
