Lot10 Early African Ashanti Gilt Gold Dust Weights & Dogon Mali Rings Animals Nr For Sale
About a month ago I listed a collection of fantastic old wooden carved African Tribal sculptures. I bought them from an estate sale in a box lot. I am know listing a large selection of early African Tribal Solid Bronze hand made miniature figurines & other Bronze items. There are all different kinds from different tribes & areas of Africa. They are part of the same estate that the wooden sculptures came from. As with them I do not know much anything about African items. Though from these and the wooden figures I am learning as I do research. They are old but as to exactly how old? I do not know. I would say atleast 100 years or older. Some were made as gold dust weights & some were made as ornaments to wear as well as being used for weighing gold dust.There are approx. 80-85 bronze items. I will be listing them in 10 different lots. This is LOT #10 a lot of 13 various items. There are three fantastic rings. All three from the Dogon Mali tribe which one is a large scorpion figure another a beautiful little bird & the third has various cones of some sort on it. The largest measuring 2" in length. Then there are two small Ashanti Bronze bell pendants. One is broken and is missing the interior, Then there are three Ashanti tribe gold dust weights in the form of animals. All three with great detail. One an alligator or lizard, another an chameleon, and another a scorpion, all three gold gilt with some wear, there are two small long rectangle carved Ashanti gold weights, one stacked triangle form and two other gold dust weights as well. And last there are three really great detailed heavily gold gilt Dogon tribe Peanut form pendants which are very nice and solid. They measure approx. 1-1/4" long. They are pictured last. They are in great condition with some surface wear. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THESE FANTASTIC PIECES! I will combine
