This is an authentic Louis Vuitton Rayee style trunk dating back to the 1800's. The Louis Vuitton Rayee trunk was produced from 1876-1888 as a result of other designers copying the original Trianon canvas from 1858-1876. The Rayee was then changed in 1888 to the Damier canvas. The trunk is rare and is in original condition with all of the original brass hardware. The handles and wheels are still intact and roll easily. All latches and hinges are in perfect working order. The bottom is zinc and was a custom feature for its superior protection against water and pest damage. The storage tray is missing from the inside, in addition to staining and wear to the canvas. It is missing the leather strap as seen in the pictures but the structural integrity is solid. The original label with serial number is still intact. I believe everything on this trunk is original with no signs of restoration... Please refer to the photos and feel free to ask any further questions.
