This sale is for a Lovely and Very Rare Antique Staffordshire Pearlware Black Transferware Plate made in the early 1800s by James and Ralph Clews in the company’s Striking Virginia Pattern
The pattern depicts a classic garden scene with two people standing among willow trees and oversized flowers at the edge of a lake or river with a mansion in the background and a floral border design with a neat scalloped edging with raised, molded dots.
The plate measures 9 1/8 inches across.
It was made between 1818 and 1834 and is in Very Good condition, especially for its age.
There are no chips or cracks or damage with the exception of a small chip in the underside bottom table ring (see last photo).
The plate has a backstamp with an eagle perched atop the pattern name and a large group of flowers. There also is an impressed star mark.

I am selling many other Staffordshire and Transferware items and will combine shipping.
I charge actual shipping and will send this either by USPS Priority Mail or by FedEx Ground, whichever is less expensive. NOTE: I can\'t send by FedEx Ground if it is going to a PO Box.
Please also check my response and buy with confidence.
