This is such a wonderful antique gown, in fact I think it really belongs in a Museum, or stored under glass, and probably should not be worn again. The dressmaker/retailer was Mrs Addley Bourne, of Sloane Street, and I found an interesting blog article about her, so if you wish to read this please follow the link at the end of the listing.

The exquisite gown measures just under 53" in length, but as for the other measurements, well the overall size is extremely tiny, too small even to fit on my size 8 mannequin/tailors dummy. So I think it might possibly have been a child's dress, perhaps a bridesmaid frock, but it is also possible it was custom made as a wedding gown, but if so, for the weeniest of brides!

Please note that all international items will be posted by a trackable method - this is to comply with /PayPal recommendations. This obviously means that certain overseas items will be expensive to post.

Where necessary we include the weight of the item in the listing so that you can visit Royal Mail and follow the instructions to get an approximate cost of postage to your destination. We use Airsure for those countries that accept it. For large/heavier items we may use a courier such as DHL or TNT.

Please, please do not ask us to mark Customs Declarations as "Gift" or a lower value than price paid. This is illegal.

Returns and Refunds

We operate a no-quibble returns policy. If the item is not as described, simply return it within 48 hours of receipt for a full refund. In the very unlikely event that the item is damaged in transit, please contact us immediately before throwing the item away - we need evidence of damage to claim insurance.

Also, if returning something to us from outside of Europe, please mark this as a RETURN with a value of £0 on the customs declaration. This means we do not have to pay import duty on returned items.
