Fownes gloves are renowned for their quality -- after all, they\'ve been a family owned business for more than 200 years!
This pair of vintage kid leather gloves is in a lovely off-white or ivory colour and feature an embroidered scalloped edging accented with French knots and a curved line of open cutwork to add visual appeal.
The left glove is marked on the inside with a \"7\" to indicate the size, and with several more groups of numbers, possibly style and other manufacturing numbers, but it isn\'t clear what these may mean.
The right glove is marked inside as: \"Fownes Own Make\", an indistinct symbol, some indistinct words (although I believe the 1st word may be \"Fabrique\", which may indicate they were made in France), and the word \"Lavable\" (washable). There is also an indistinct set of 3 numbers (I think it is 148 or 146).
The length of the gloves comes to just about 3\" above the wrist. They are supple and very comfortable with the inside just as soft as can be! Very lightweight, and of course, very chic and elegant!
The gloves measure approx 10\" from tip of middle finger to scalloped edge.
