Lovely Pair ♦ Antique Plates Or Saucers ♦ Framed In Wood ♦ Japanese/asian~nr For Sale
As you can see from the photos, these are old and show their age. They both could use a good cleaning, but other than pealing off the dots of paint (they're on the photos, but I removed a few by simply scratching them off. I'm not going to do any further cleaning as I am not a professional collector or restorer of anything, so I will leave that to the person who purchases these. They are both of different people, looks Japanese to me, but again, I'm no expert. They measure 1 1/2" x 6" and weigh 13 ounces together. The paper on the back side is super fragile and they seem to be mounted with somerudimentarynailing/glue as shown in the open backing. Both plates have no chipping/cracking or crackling glaze, however, the varnish on the wooden frames shows its age being completely crackled.
