Lovely Vintage Retro Hadeland Benny Motzfeldt Glass Osteklokke Cheese Dome 1960s For Sale
You are invited to offer on this lovelyvintage retro cheese dome or Osteklokke, designed by the renowned Norwegian glass designer Benny Motzfeldt for Hadeland Glassverk in the 1960s. The cheese dome has been hand blown out of beautiful smoky grey/green glass. It is an elegant shape with smoothly sloping sides rising to a peaked finial with round top. The glass lid sits on a round varnished teak base with a groove round the edge for the dome to sit in. The teak is a lovely mellow colour.
The dome stands 9.5" tall when it is on its base. The teak base measures almost 8" across. the dome is in great condition with no cracks or chips, and just a couple of tiny scratches to the surface. It bears no maker's marks but this is a recognised Motzfeldt design and is generally attributed to her time at Hadeland. She worked with Hadeland from 1955 to 1967, and I believe that this piece dates to the mid 1960s.
A beautiful piece of understated Scandinavian design and a lovelypiece of vintageglass.
