This is a Lyon & Healy American Professional silver plated cornet. Made in Chicago. Serial number 180. It is in excellent condition. This cornet was purchased from Lyon & Healy in Chicago sometime between 1902 and 1905 and it comes with the original business card of W. H. Scouton, who sold the horn. It is a very fine instrument and plays great. Allvalvesand slides move freely. The plating is in excellent condition. It has only a few very small spots of wear on the water keys, first valve casing and second valve slide. It has some minor dings near the receiver and on the first valve slide. It has mother of pearl finger buttons and nice floral engraving on the bell. It comes with the original mouthpiece, marked Lyon & Healy, The Only Genuine Leavy Model. It also has the original bottle of valve oil and lyre. It plays in B-flat and has an additional set of slide for playing in A. It comes in what seems to be the original case, which is in decent condition for its age. Please see photos for more details. Thank you!
