M-42  Paratrooper Jump Pants Attributed To An 82nd A/b  307  Engineer Co

WWII M-42 Jump PantsThese pants came directly from Mr. P. though there are no identifying marks.
Mr. P was in the 82nd Airborne 307th Parachute Engineers Company "C".
He earned his jump wings in September 1942.
He served in Sicily, Naples - Foggia and Rome - Arno.
Mr. P. was a demolitions expert.
According to Mr. P. he jumped behind enemy lines and blew up a bridge with German vehicles.
He was captured and declared Missing In Action.
He escaped with several other men and made it back to friendly lines.
Fort a short period he rejoined his unit but because of his POW escapee status
He was sent back to the United States.
He eventually, after several requests, made it back to the Fort Benning Parachute School.
He was an instructor at the jump school until discharged in October 1945.Please check my other sales for many other items of this man.

Issued to him when he was repatriated after being a prisoner of war.
He was sent back to his unit for a very short while before he was shipped back to the USA.
According to Mr. P. one of his buddies bled on him during this short time.
The spots on the lower right front are from this episode.The pants themselves are in hardly used condition.
The tag is still under the pocket.
All snaps and buttons work perfectly.
There are no marks on these pants that identify them to Mr. P. but it came from him.
32 inch waist and 31 inch inseam on pant leg.
The pants retain 99% of their original issue color and show very little fading.
The pictures showing the full front and back are closer to the color of these pants.
Also shown are the jacket and pants together showing the blood stain pattern.
