M1850 Ames Foot Officer Sword Ca.1861-62 For Sale

M1850 Ames Foot Officer Sword Ca.1861-62

Offered from my collectionis another M1850 Foot Officer Sword manufactured by the "Ames Mfg. Co., Chicopee, Mass." This sword exhibits almost the same frosting and condition of the Dated M1850 Ames I listed earlier this week. The grip is almost in mint condition and all the wire wrap is present. The sword retains its original washer and has the usual military motiffs found on an Ames etched pattern blade. The Ames address is found on the ricasso of the bladeand the top scabbard mount. The eye appeal is just beautiful and areas of the blade frosting just "pops" out at you. The pommel cap is smooth to the touch and has not been messed with. The blade is etched with ablock "U.S."showing manufacture in the years 1861 and 1862. The fancy script "U.S." version denotes 1863 on. The scabbard has the sword's original top and middle mount. The drag is a replacement and the leather on the scabbard has been replaced as well. The scabbard was professionally done and fits the sword perfectly, locking in when inserted into the scabbard. I am stating for exactness and you can barely tell this was doneunless you have a keen eye. The sword is tight and balanced and there is no looseness to be found at all. The scabbard is strong and displays well with thesword. Please offer with confidence as I have 100% response. Please add $25 for shipping costs. If you would like insurance, please let me know before I ship. I will not end the sale for behind the scenes offers so the sale will run until it ends. Someone will be adding this nice sword to their collection andI trust the buyers will find the right price for this sword. I will combine shipping for multiple items but will have to wait for all three of my sword sales to end. Thank you for your offers.
