This is an M-1878 Haversack in EXCELLENT condition. No holes, tears. There is a dark red stain as shown in pictures on the lower side, and very light staining, more like light smudges on back. You can see how minimal the staining is by the photos. The original leather strap is in very supple condition. The leather is soft with only light cracking in it, again, refer to picture. Manufacturer stamp on both the haversack and the strap both read "Rock Island Arsenal".

watch for my other sales in the coming days, weeks and months to come for
other WWI & WWII items. I recently came across a widow who wanted to
sell all of her husbands "junk". Her husband had amassed a VERY
large collection of WWI & WWII GI issue items. What is so special
about his collection, is that he didn't collect just "junk" and
"field used" items. A majority of the items he collected are
all in VERY GOOD to MINT condition. He had a true eye for finding the
unissued items, and I was the fortunate fellow to come across it all. If
I only had the room to display it all myself!
Be sure to
bookmark me as a seller and watch the many very nice and unique and rare items
I'll be posting! Most of which I will be posting at $.01 starting price!
