Made by the Springfield Arsenal and armory-dated 1899. This bayonet has the correct bright-white original finish remaining; the blade has not been re-sharpened; the tip is intact. Original wood handle grips are in excellent shape; scabbard/bayonet release mechanism is excellent and 100% functional. Steel pommel is perfect without the typical ding marks with very attractive even gray patina throughout. Ricasso is date-stamped 1899 on one side and US on the other. The bayonet is about 16-1/2\" / 41.8 cm overall; the blade is about 11-3/4\" / 29.8 cm long. All-steel scabbard is unmarked with about 99% of the bluing remaining; belt hanger rotates smoothly. Overall, the scabbard is near-mint; 100% serviceable condition. As with this, all of my items are 100% guaranteed to meet your expectations or your money back!
