Macfarlane Lang Golf Bag Rare British Biscuit Tin C1913 Golfing Players:
This very rare embossed British biscuit tin was produced for the British biscuit company "MacFarlane Lang" in 1913 and is titled "Golf Bag".
It was made to look like an early leather golf bag full of clubs.
One side has a gentleman golfer in his plus fours and Harris tweeds, the other a lady with her ankle length skirt and hat!
The early original version of the great tin!The sale is only for the tin shown in pics 1 to 9. The last pic shows this tin; left, and the more common Canadian version which was produced for a number of companys; right. Both were made by "Barringer, Wallis & Manners" in England, if you look at the lady's appearance on the Canadian tin she is clearly from the late 1920's!Size in inches: about 11 tall.
Condition: OK, the pictures tell the full story, some minor scuffs, wear and dents.

" Thank you Nigel.
Yes I am aware that there was a golf bag sold on a couple of days ago for $1475.
However, it was a much later and more common version of this 1913 tin made solely for the Canadian market; also the graphics are different".
