Marius Hammer Norway Sterling Silver Enamel Jam Spoon Norwegian Antique C1900:
A beautiful good sized Norwegian sterling silver gilt and enamel jam spoon. It is hallmarked with the 930S standard mark (actually higher grade than sterling at 925) and the makers mark of Marius Hammer, a sought after maker registered as working in Bergen between 1847 until 1927. I would date this piece to c1900. It has been beautifully made being completely gilded with very fine enamel detailing. It is in super condition. The silver is free from dings splits distortions and repairs and the gilding bright and complete, there is a tiny piece of enamel missing at the base of the handle reverse - see final photo. It measures almost 5.5 inches (13.7cms) long and weighs 21 grams. A beautifully design example.
