Martin Sigma Guitar, Sdr-28h, Sdr28h, Solid Top, Rosewood, Very Nice :
Here is a super nice vintageMARTIN SIGMAacousticstrings guitar. The model number is SDR28H. It has solid spruce top and rosewood back and sides. The back and sides may also be solid, but I am not sure. The neck is mahogany, and the fretboard and the bridge are rosewood. The saddle is bone. The binding has herringbone pattern.
Players and collectors alike believe that Sigma models SDR28H and DR7are Sigma's top of the line, and likely so. While the DR7 is akin to Martin D21, the SDR28H is legendary in a sense that it might have even surpass the tonal quality and craftmaship of Martin's D28, so they say.
This is a great sounding guitar.Even with its old strings, it still sounds amazing. Action is low, about 1/8" at the 12th fret on the lower E string. Very easy to play. The saddle is bone. The nut may also be bone, but I am not sure.
The machine heads are chrome closed gear type. The fretboard markers are snowflake cross design.
The guitar has dark amber color. The finish is very shiny. Very nice.
Thisguitar is very well taken care of. The neck is butted very well to the body, no sign of separation at all. The bridge is solidly attached to thetop, no sign of lifting whatsoever. The pickguard has beautiful tortoise finish. There are some miniscule scratches, hard to capture in pictures, but overall, this is an excellent guitar. As you can see in the pictures, this is just a superb guitar.
You will be hard pressed to find a Sigma SDR28H for sale, especially in thisgreat condition.
