Marvel Fanfare 1982 Comics Series Issues 1 & 5 Spider-man Daredevil Dr. Strange For Sale
IMPORTANT SHIPPING NOTE: EVEN IF YOU WIN UP TO 80 COMIC BOOKS FROM ME, YOU WILL NOT PAY MORE THAN $11.30 FOR SHIPPING NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE IN THE UNITED STATES! That's the price to ship a Flat Rate Priority Mail Medium Box, which holds up to 80 comics. If the combined weight of your winnings is low enough that regular Priority Mail is cheaper than $11.30, that's obviously fine—but be aware that you can win up to 80 total comic books from me and never have to worry about paying more than $11.30 shipping, which includes Delivery Confirmation!
Comics cannot be shipped by the cheap Media Mail rate. They must go either by First Class (if under 13 ounces) or Priority Mail. Blame the post office, not me! But if you win more than one of my sales, you never will pay more than a total of $11.30 for up to EIGHTY comic books shipped together in one box.
You also can mix-and-match comics with other items (such as books, CDs and DVDs), so long as everything will fit inside that 11" x 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" box that is big enough to hold 80 comics. But I will make sure that you pay the lowest amount possible, whether that means shipping your winnings together or separately!
So if you end up being a multiple-sale winner, IGNORE 'S INVOICE and e-mail me to let me know—so I can send you a revised reduced-shipping invoice right away!
——Description of This sale——
Having all of my comics professionally graded by CGC would cost a fortune and take forever, so only my most valuable books are graded. I have been collecting comics for more than 40 years -- buying most of them new, reading them once and putting them in bags.
My grading scale:
Near Mint (looks just bought, any flaws extremely minor)
Very Fine (almost Near Mint, but just misses)
Very Good (shows handling with notable flaws but none disastrously awful)
Good (more flawed, still a solid book for reading but that's about it)
Fair (big problems)
Poor (horrible condition, trash it after reading it).
The photo above is of the actual comics you will get.
These are two issues of the Marvel Comics 1982 series MARVEL FANFARE. This was a great series that was printed on heavy high-quality paper with beautiful colors for just about the first time, and the books had no advertising (other than Marvel house ads). More details about these specific issues:
MARVEL FANFARE issue 1 (first issue), March 1982, condition NEAR MINT (looks brand new, even though it is more than 30 years old now!). Great front cover of Spider-Man and the Angel from X-Men. Back cover is Daredevil by Frank Miller. Interior stories are a Spider-Man story by Chris Claremont and Michael Golden with a backup Daredevil story by Roger McKenzie drawn by the great Paul Smith with inks by Terry Austin. Nice! And if you are insane enough to dismantle the comic in order to have something to thumb-tack to your wall, there's a nice two-page John Byrne/Terry Austin spread of Spider-Man and the Silver Surfer printed inside the front and back cover.
MARVEL FANFARE issue 5, November 1982 in FINE condition (only some "rubbing" at top left corner keeps it from grading higher). Dr. Strange story (and the lovely Clea) by Chris Claremont and Marshall Rogers inked by P. Craig Russell. Backup story is Captain America by Roger McKenzie and Luke McDonnell. Great wraparound Dr. Strange cover!
GREAT COMICS, FROM A PET-FREE, SMOKE-FREE HOME!
