3. Processed material falls through onto the screen.
4. The fine pollen falls through the mesh and the bulky material stays on top.
5. The bottom half of the grinder unscrews into two parts where all the pollen/crystals are collected which can later be used.

There are noseparatebits, as in the teeth & lid are all one solid piece of metal. The teeth are not on a disc which is glued to the lid like other grinders you may have come across. No need to worry about teeth breaking like other grinders.
