Michigan Soul/garage 45: Iv Royals/s. Mckay (stooges) Super Rare Private Hear:
Unplayed Michigan Private issue1967 45rpm
Visually graded condition of disc:M- (never been record, I don't know anyone else who has a copy of this Grand Rapids disc aside from the 8 I've sold here on over the past 6 years.
The Royals are a complete mystery to me, but I was friends with Steve Mckay (MacKay) who lived just a few blocks from me here in Grand Rapids, and eventually joined Detroit's Stooges with Iggy Pop. He personally gave me a few copies of this back in '67, and then pretty much disappeared from our home town, moving to Ann Arbor...and the last time I saw him was when I crashed on his apartment floor ['in' Ann Arbor, Mich]back in1969. Thankfully, I've read he's still alive and well).YOU CAN HEAR THIS RECORD WITH THE LINK BELOW. THE CLIP IS FROM A COPY FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION
THE COPY YOU WILL GET WILL BE UNPLAYEDYou can hear a clip from the top side (at 64k) HERE
You can hear a clip from theflip side (at 64k) HERE
(Need I mention that your record will sound much better than these low-fi files?)
NO 'BEST OFFERS' ACCEPTED
Continuing with the liquidation of my record collection passing them on to people who can more appreciate them. These are items from my collection of nearly 40,000 promo singles, LP's & CD's from the 60's thru the 90's that I was fortunate to acquire from doing 37 years of on-air Rock Radio.
All of my records are guaranteed original pressings. No boots or re-issues.
In the 80's I advertised and saleed off thousands of records in Goldmine magazine under the name of Hemp's Hits.
If you are a previous customer, you already know of my integrity as an honest dealer.
Those of you who are not familiar with me need only to check my response.
You can offer and buy with complete confidence.
The most important thing you need to know, is that to the absolute best of my knowledge,
nearly all of the records I list, unless otherwise noted, have never ever been played on a turntable.
These records were sorted, stored, moved a few times, and then stored again for decades.
Some carefully, others were not.
All of my gradings are strictly visual, and more often than not, quite generous. However, because of various quality
in pressings, I cannot guarantee that the pressings themselves will be noise-free. That comes with the territory.
Many 50's (e.g. Chess, Vee-Jay, etc.) & 60's pressings, especially the small independent labels, were
pressed "on-the-cheap" and are somewhat noisy even at NrMint.
I will not play these records for any reason. (Unless noted) the record you receive will be like new and unplayed.
Visual grading is for disc only. Company sleeves (when available)are in various conditions.
Sorry...I do not create audio clips on request. If there is no audio clip attached, I don't have one.
MY GRADING SCALE
(very similar to the Goldmine standard)
NM (Near Mint): Record will show no serious scuffs or scratches in the playing area. May have minor scuffs on edges from decades of storage, or a small scuff, scratch or paper scuff on playing area.
It's near mint, not mint (which would be 'sealed' to me). There should be no audible distractions.
M- (Near Mint minus): A scuff or two or light scratch or two on either or both sides that may be heard.
VG+: Scuffs & some minor scratches in the playing area. Some will most likely be heard.
VG: Many scuffs or scratches that will be heard but record should still play fine.
Record grading is subjective. That's why I offer a money back guarantee on
everything I sell (no refunds on shipping charges).
