VINTAGE CERAMIC POTTERY FISH PLATTER
SIGNED ITALY 217/PP60519 1/4 inches long X 9 1/2 inches wide
A great example of mid century modern ceramic design, this is a gorgeous Italian platter with an overall
painted and glazed abstract design of fishes in tones of brilliant red, black and white. Enhanced by the black glaze on the back which adds a subtle flair when positioned on a table. This would look stunning as a centerpiece to any modern, architectural, graphic and interior design collection, it is very large and skillfully painted, clearly a fine example of postwar modern style inspired by the Italian avant-garde.In excellent overall condition with only two very shallow flea bites at the outer edges that affect the glaze only, and not the pottery. One bite is at the top center, the other at the extreme left center. These should be an easy restoration if you are so inclined, but not necessary. Otherwise, perfect, with no other faults to mention. The glaze is clear and without crazing.Painted mark ITALY 217/PP THANKS FOR LOOKING!SHIPPING:
