Miller Co. Conn Sp Victorian Center Piece Bowl Compote Bird & Deer Rustic Design For Sale
This Victorian silver plate compote was meant to be a central display item on a table or sideboard, perhaps holding fruit or flowers. The design on the top is a rustic one, having a buck and doe running in a country setting. Below the bowl portion is a bird, perhaps a pheasant, setting on the center of the cross supports. The sides of the bowl have 4 clusters of fruit, emphasizing the purpose of the compote. It has wear, especially in the bottom of the bowl, which would be hidden if one used it for its original purpose of display. Replating would really bring this complete and undamaged piece to life. It measures about 9 1/2" x 9 1/2".The company name is a bit indistinct on the underside, but it seems to say Miller and Connecticut. Shipping this piece to any US destination will be $10.00. boxes before the sale closes, so I cannot be
100% sure of the shipping cost.
NOTE: But for any buyers from outside the US, for
any billing that proves to be more than the actual shipping charge when mailed,
I refund any amount that was overpaid. If I state
shipping will be Priority International I still might seek a lower rate under
different shipping level. But whatever
international level chosen, I refund overpayments. And, if
the postal charge is higher than the amount billed I will send an additional bill for the extra and give
positive response when that is paid. (I do not want to
make a profit on shipping but I can’t lose money on out of country shipping or
I must give up that service.)
