Mint Vintage Halloween Pumpkin Girl Flapper Diecut Decoration, Germany 1920s For Sale
Welcome Fellow Vintage and Antique
Hallowe'en and Paper Ephemera Enthusiasts!
Many of you know us as longtime collectors and sellers of vintage and
antique Hallowe'en, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Easter memorabilia, antique
dolls, old toys, and lovely old china and glassware.
We have been asked to sell some superbpieces from the collection of a very
knowledgeable collector of vintage and antique Hallowe'en ephemera. For your
all-year-long Hallowe’en-loving pleasure, we are HAUNTINGly happy to present Germany’s
infamous Jack o' Lantern girl Flapper diecut. This one is the smaller,
easy-to-place size – and she is in MINT, MINT, DEAD MINT condition! Please meet Flo. She was made from thick,
heavily-embossed cardboard or pressed paper pulp and painted in matte medium
orange, jet black with a slight sheen and matte ivory white. She is embossed
Germany on one side. She wears her hair in a bob so popular in the day and her
black lips are poised for
This example is by far the nicest one in the best condition we have ever seen
in our many years of collecting. She looks like the day she was made and one
would never DREAM she has seen 90-something All Hallows' Eves. It is Ziz’s
opinion that you may never see an example of this diecut in this superior condition.
This is the only one in this condition Ziz has seen in all of her many years of
collecting and sharing vintage Hallowe'en memorabilia.
Flo measures 5” high x 6” wide.
As an aside: this diecut has always reminded us of Betty Boop. One like Flo can
be seen on page 158 of Mark B. Ledenbach’s outstanding book “Vintage Halloween
Collectibles; An Identification & Price Guide (Second Edition)”.
We imagine what those FRIGHTfully fabulous parties were like during the Flapper
Days of the Roarin’ 1920s and 1930s. We picture smoke-filled speakeasies, MAGICally
magnificent parties where mahjong was played, costumes and masks were worn and
fun was surely had by all. This oh-so-SPOOKY cool decoration SCREAMS the 1920s with her iconic hairstyle
and somewhat naughty expression. She would make a perfect acquisition for the Hallowe'en
collector who seeks to add items of memorabilia in only the very best
Please remember Ziz’s motto: Eat, Drink
and Be Scary!

Oh, there’ll be spooky doings
When cometh Hallowe'en,
With black cats loudly meowing,
And witches to be seen;
For ‘tis the night when bats careen,
And hoots the hooting owl,
While in the heavy shadows
The gray ghost slyly prowl.
