SIGNED \"P. Nicolas Nancy\" inraised signature;indicates that he ~ Paul Nicolas ~ made this vase himself.
Paul Nicolas became a chief designer at Galle in around 1895 when he was barely 20. He was clearly Emile Galle’s favored protégée; going on to manage the St. Louis glass studios and founding D\'Argental where he designed the majority of their vases yet signed only alimitednumber.
Condition is PERFECT with wear indicative of age. No chips, cracks or repairs.
This is an incredibly rare vase. From my extensive experience collecting glass superstars, I know ofapproximatelyaround ten signed vases in existence and have had the fortune to own two.
Not only is this a beautiful vase, it is visually commanding as a monumental vase; height is an impressive 12 1/4inches tall and over 8 inches wide.

It hasfive color layers, acid cutto cameo perfection.Asubtletranslucence, the colors are yellow, red, burgundy, mahogany and black. Vibrant red roses, stems and leaves make the scene with Art Deco borders.
