Museum Quality Antique Persian Safavid/ Qajar Islamic Copper Plate - 18th/19th C:
I am selling this breathtaking very rare Persian copper plate.
The copper plate has been hand chased with the finest calligraphy I have ever seen on any plate / tray.
I think it is from the Qajar Period meaning it dates from 1800's. However it could also be from very late Safavid period. The calligraphy is very similar to the syle of calligraphy used in Safavid works of art.
The centre has been hand chased with wild deer. This central scene has then been bordered with a band of calligraphy seperated by beautifully chased bird.
The copper plate was plated with a white metal which seems like tin. However some of this has worn due to the age of the item.
It is an extremely high quality item the finest and flawless chased designs.
I really cannot stress how beautiful this plate really is.
I can honestly say this is truly in my opinion a Museum Worthy item!
The quality has to be seen in person to be appreciated.
The diameter of the plate is 26.5cm = 10.4 inches
An unbelievable amount of work and effort has gone into creating this breathtaking plate, all completed by hand.
It is in excellent condition. No dents or cracks. Some wear to the tin plating but due to age of around 200 years old!
Take advantage and offer – Do NOT miss out on the opportunity to buy this fantastic tray!
