You just never see this many great and rarely seen fresh estate pieces like this come up for sale all at once. Up for sale with is the finest Antique Continental Sterling Silver Tea Caddy Jar or Box that I have sold in a long time. The Jar is truly of the finest quality with incredibly well detailed Scenes of Young Maidens and Cavalier Gentlemen in what I believe is a Wedding Party complete with Children holding the train of her dress and a sweet little flower girl. The Scene is much more impressive in real life, it was hard to photo so you can see the entire scene as it wraps all the way around the jar. The Lid also has fine period repousse designs and the feet are Mythical Figures. Again, the detail is the best I have seen ! The Jar is fully Hallmarked as seen in the photos, including English Import Markings, dating it to 1907, and I believe it could be earlier than this as the Continental Hallmarks look older, though I am certainly no expert on Continental Silver. The Tea Caddy is a great size for display or modern use measuring 4-1/2" tall by 3" wide by 2" thick. The Caddy also features a very nice tight fitting lid which will keep the tea fresh and also perfect for traveling. The Tea Caddy Jar is in excellent all original condition with a couple light dints to the lid but no large dents and certainly no cracks, holes or repairs. The Tea Caddy is nice thick Sterling Silver throughout with a quality weight of 156 grams and just feels very nice in your hands, I am sure the new owner will be most impressed. This would be a fine addition to any Collection or make a special and unique gift.
