MACKENZIE CHILDS CHELSEA LUSTRE PLATTER
This is a difficult to find and avidly sought Mackenzie Childs \"Chelsea Lustre\" platter. It has a luster finish over a thick creamy glaze strewn with beautiful floral and butterfly transfers reminiscent of the old English chintz patters. The handles and trim are copper luster.
The platter measures 17 1/2\" handle center to handle center (18\" handle edge to handle edge) and is 10 1/2\" in diameter. There are no chips, cracks or stains and the copper luster is completely intact. The only fault is light pitting across the surface of the glaze that is in the glaze only and had to have have occurred in the firing. It is only visible up very close with the platter angled in bright light (See 2nd Photo & Next to Last Photo). Otherwise it is invisible even a few inches away. Overall he platter is in excellent condition and displays beautifully but I have discounted it because of the light pitting. Normally, I would price this between $300 and $325.
