Estate DecorMagnificent Antique 17-18th Century Indo Persian Khud Helmet w/ Chainmail GuardAuthentic antique 18th -19th century Islamic Indo Persian nobleman helmet Kulah-Khud. A hemi-spherical skull formed of one hand forged steel plate, with a stout mounted long spike at the top, a pair of plume-holders, a movable guard nasal flanked by two plume holders, retaining its original neck-defensechain-mailof chain mail of rounded links. The skull is beautifully decorated over its entire surface with beautifulArabicgold overlay designs. The edge of the helmet is adorned by a broad band of sixcar-touchescontaining script in Arabic calligraphy and heightened in Gold koftgari. The helmet comes with its original fabric inner cap lining and the chainmail guard has minor damage as there are some missing links in the chainmail. the helmet shows wear of age but none more than you would expect from an old period piece.
