Featured in this sale is a beautiful, vintage flower urn made by Weller Pottery.The vase is unmarked; however, this urn design and glaze finish is a well-known Weller line called Coppertone. The guide called The Collector\'s Encyclopedia of Weller Pottery by Sharon and Bob Huxford contains a picture of this urn design in otherglaze finishes, also known as a \"covered jar\". This urn does not have a cover or lid. There is also the remnant of what I believe is a paper retailer\'s label on the base. This piece has a classic molded design of an urn with small handles on each side.This early line of Weller was produced in the late 1920\'s. It is in excellent condition with only very fine crazing and a small glaze pop on the interior, but with no chips, no cracks and no repairs.It is finished in a gorgeous combination of matte green and copper glazes known as Coppertone. The mottled green overdrip has curdled on the coppery underglaze giving this heavy, substantial vase the lookof a Chinese bronze. The vase is 7-1/2\" tall and about 6\" wide at the handles. The vase was obviously used as there is evidence of mineral staining on the interior. The base rim is unglazed. Check out all 10 photos!
