Quoted from Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide 42 Edition, 2012 to 2013. Grade 5.0 (VG/FN): “An above average but well used comic book. A comic book in this grade shows some moderate wear; eye appeal is some what reduced because of accumulation of defects. Still a desirable comic that has been handled with some care. An accumulation of bindery defects is allowed. Minor to moderate cover wear is apparent with minor to moderate creases and/or dimples. Inks have major to extreme reduction in reflectivity. Blunted or abraded corners are increasingly common as is minor to moderate staining, discoloration and/or foxing. Stamped or inked arrival dates may be present. A minor to moderate spine roll is allowed. A spine split of up to ½” maybe present. Staples show minor discoloration. A slight accumulation of minor staple tears and an accumulation of minor stress lines may be present, as well as minor rust migration. In rare cases a comic was not stapled at the bindery and therefore has a missing staple; this is not considered a defect. Any staple can be replaced on books up to Fine, but only vintage staple can be used on vintage books from Very Fine to Near Mint. Mint books must have original staples. Paper is brown to tan with no brittleness. May have the faintest trace of an acidic odor. Centerfold may be loose but not detached. Minor tears may also be present.
I am offering comics with a known history to the comic collector and the comic fan. These comics were purchased by my brothers in the 1960's when they were paperboys. I also read them. They have had no restoration and have never left the house I inherited, thus Redheadmarys Attic.
I use Overstreet 10-point grading system to give you a general idea of the condition. I am not a professional grader. I try to mention flaws that may distract to the value and mention attributes that contribute to the value.
Comics will ship First Class USPS with a comic book bag and board with an extra board in the front for more protection and this is included in the shipping weight and cost. Shipments can be combined. To combine shipments comics should be purchased within 10 days from the 1 to the last and please e-mail me if you are doing this. 2 comics can ship for $3.00. 3 comics can ship for $4.00. 4 to 6 comics can ship for $5.00. Purchases over $20.00 can ship free. You can suggest another way of shipping if this will make your evaluation of shipping costs lower and your evaluation of shipping costs positive. I don't charge a handling cost and I don't add on for the bag, board or extra board in front. This adds a little to shipping weight. I usually pay a little over $2 and this is with shipping rates. Anything you suggest will be considered with regards to shipping. Thanks so much!
Any items that are vintage, collectible or otherwise shipped from my house can be combined in one shipment. Usually cost determined by biggest or heaviest item. Please contact for combined shipping costs since variables include how to ship fragile items with heavy items, etc. My goal is to save you shipping costs.
New, never opened and never used items that are shipped from my supplier cannot be combined with above mentioned vintage items. Exactly, the same items likely can be shipped together if ordered at the same time with a shipping discount for the 2nd item and so on. Different items of different size and weights, etc. can only be ordered separately, since that is the way my supplier ships.
