6 1/2 x 4 3/4 inch Studio Camera

A small studio type bellows camera, probably early 1870s, mahogany body with dovetailed joints, rack and pinion front focusing.

Original screen frame, new screen, wet plate holder for half plate, reconditioned. The plate holder is of mahogany with rosewood corner inserts, wired inner corners for the wet plates.

Fitted with Frederick Cox Petzval portrait lens, 10 inch focus. The optics are clean and clear in condition.

Overall base/body length closed 15" x 9 1/2 " wide, minimum bellows extension 6", max. 11 1/2"

A solid little studio portrait camera, there is some corrosion to the brass screw heads, splits to the front support panel and wear to the bellows corners, otherwise it is in a good usable condition.
