Manhattan Arms N.y. Twin Cavity .36 Cal Revolver Bullet Mold For Colt 1851 Navy

Manhattan Firearms New York, NY Bullet MoldTwin Cavity .36 Cal Revolver for the 1851 Colt Navy
Hi...this listing is for an awesome bullet mold that I found among the inventory items leftover from my family's gun shop which closed after fifty years. It is a twin cavity bullet mold that can be used to make either a bullet or a ball for the 1851 Colt Navy. It is in really great condition considering that it is dates to the Civil War.
Here's a bit of history...The Manhattan Firearms Manufacturing Co. was founded by a group of New Jersey businessmen in 1856 who wanted to take advantage of Colt's patent for revolving firearms that was due to expire in 1857. Manufacturing began in Norwich, Connecticut and in 1859 moved to Newark, New Jersey. During its existence the Manhattan Firearms Company produced approximately 175,000 pistols. Only Colt, Remington and Winchester produced more during the Civil War era.
I am hoping that someone out there will give this item a good home. It really is a cool piece of history. I am going to give it a 10 day listing. Normally I do 7 days but I know that this isn't really that useful to many people unless they have a .36 cal Colt Navy so hopefully the extra time on will help it find it's way to a good home.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask and I will do my best to answer! Thanks so much for looking at the listing and have a great day!
~Whitny
