The front cover of this March 4, 1974, 72-page, plus covers, Vol. 1 No. 1 issue of People, \"the first national weekly magazine to be started in 20 years,\" features Mia Farrow as an elegant Daisy, the \"shimmering heroine\" in Gatsby, \"the year\'s next big movie.\" Other people highlighted in the cover blurbs include William Peter Blatty, The Exorcist author & filmmaker; Marina Oswald; Gloria Vanderbilt; Alexander Solzhenitsyn; Jim Croce; Richard Petty; & the Hearst family meet the media during the nightmare of their daughter\'s kidnapping. The like new condition issue has a 1/8-inch rip on the left edge of the back cover. (see my Photographs 1-5 & 12)

The front cover of this March 11, 1974, 62-page, plus covers, Vol. 1 No. 2 issue features Martha Mitchell, \"Her story of her breakup with John,\" the former attorney general who was on trial for obstructing a federal investigation. Others highlighted in cover blurbs include chess champion Bobby Fischer; Neil Simon & Marsha Mason; Norman Mailer, Stewart Alsop, James Cagney, Marlo Thomas, & Connie Stevens, star of The Sex Symbol, \"a thinly disguised, fictionalized biography of Marilyn Monroe. The front cover of this March 18, 1974, 60-page, plus covers, Vol. 1 No. 3 issue features 81-year-old J. Paul Getty, the world\'s richest man, who \"never accepts mail with postage due and rarely carries more than $25 in pocket money.\" Others highlighted in cover blurbs include Lucille Ball, promoting her film Mame; the [Dave] Brubeck family, staying together by playing together; astronomer Carl Sagan, waiting for visitors from outer space; & a roller derby couple, whose life \"is hell on wheels.\" This very good condition issue has some minor edge wear & tear, which is why I selected very good for the average condition of all 3 issues.
