Mardi Gras New Orleans Rare Double Lapel Pins On Ribbons Marked 1930:
Up for offer are rare Mardi Gras New Orleans double lapel pins on ribbons. The round metal Mardi Gras "button" pin still has vivid colors of green, yellow/gold and purple and reads: Mardi Gras Crown with cross New Orleans, LA. Back of "button" pin has slight surface rust and still has the straight pin type fastener intact. The crown shaped pin is made of plastic, has a safety-pin type fastener still intact and is marked JAPAN on the back. I do not recognize the symbols in the center of the crown and the pin has darkened over the years or maybe the gold has worn off. The purple silk ribbon was originally marked with gold lettering that has faded over the years but you can still read the three lines of print: MARDI GRAS NEW ORLEANS 1930. The purple ribbon has faded somewhat as have the gold and green ribbons and/or may be slightly soiled. But, this Mardi Gras vintage item that has lasted over 84 years of being and is well on its way to being an antique, would be a wonderful addition to any Mardi Gras collection. This item measures approximately 1-1/2" across x 4-3/4" long - the round button is approximately 1-1/4" across and the crown is approximately 7/8" high x 1-1/8" across.
