Moore (1887-1972), an innovative modernist poet, saw her first verses published in 1915. She won a 1952 Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award for Collected Poems. Moore, a New York cultural celebrity known for her capes and tricorn hats, learned to drive at age 70 and threw out the first ball at Yankee Stadium in 1968. Two items.
