Marilyn Monroe Seven Year Itch Franklin Mint Heirloom Doll - Porcelain, Nib For SaleThis is a porcelain Marilyn Monroe doll, release by the Franklin Mint in 1991. She stands 19" tall and is dressed in the famous blowing white dress from The Seven Year Itch. The doll stand is made to resemble a subway grating, which in the film was the reason her dress blew up. My mother paid $200 dollars for her in 1991, and that is the starting offer for this beauty.
The picture above is what she looks like currently in her box. The second picture is how she would look displayed. I chose not to remove her from the box to take a picture. She was removed from the box once, on the day she was given to me, to see what she looked like. It was a thoughtful gift from my mother but I've never been the sort to display collector's items, so it's time for her to belong to someone who will show her off. Other than the single time, she has remained in her box in clean animal- and smoke-free storage for over 2 decades. There is no smell, no yellowing of the dress, and no damage at all; she is free of nicks, scrapes, chips, cracks, anything. When she was removed from the box her hairnet was never put back on, but because she has been stored untouched her hair is still in perfect condition. The Franklin Heirloom box is in near-perfect condition; until last year it was stored within a larger box.She has no COA, as my mother cannot find it. Should it ever turn up I would forward it to the winning buyer at no extra cost.If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
